The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has uprooted our lives and has confined us all to our homes for the majority of our day. Gyms are closed for an indefinite period, which is normally a stress-reliever during this high-stress time. Exercise reduces the body’s stress hormones and stimulates endorphins, which can help to regulate natural painkillers and elevate a person’s mood.
During such a difficult time, what is a good way to conquer the stress and emotions we are feeling while at home? Luckily, we live in a technology-fueled world and our local gyms and exercise groups are creating amazing at-home workout programs that can help to get you through this difficult time.
Fit4Mom - Goodyear Peoria Surprise
Fit4Mom Goodyear Peoria Surprise (GPS) is taking their classes virtual. Instead of in-person Stroller Strides and Body Back Boot Camp classes, they are offering virtual workouts through Zoom. Every day, they are posting daily workouts, some are even are kid friendly, with each workout being recorded so it can be completed at your convenience. They can easily be done in the comfort of your own home. The Body Back Boot Camp attendees also receive a recipe and written workout posted every day. Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of the online community is the support you will be receiving from members who are experiencing the same emotions as you. In fact, the group is also offering Sip and Share Tuesday night at 8 pm and Saturday mornings at 8 am. The chat is led by a group member and serves as a time to grab your favorite drink, unwind and have great conversation with other moms. There is a $25 fee for the program. Jabz Boxing
North Peoria is now home to Jabz Boxing. Jabz Boxing empowers women through 45-minute circuit workout sessions that combine boxing exercises with cardio, strength training, plyometrics, and other functional exercises to produce maximum results. In compliance with COVID-19 standards, all area Jabz studios are currently closed but remain committed to providing the best workout options to their members at home. The studio is currently emailing workouts to its members, as well as providing virtual classes on their app. The classes are streamed lived through Zoom, where members can work out with their instructors and other participants. Fit Body Boot Camp
Lake Pleasant Fit Body Boot Camp, located on the northeast corner of Beardsley Rd and 99th Ave., has temporarily closed their doors to do their part and help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Even though their doors are temporarily closed, they recognize the need for an at home stress relieving exercise program regardless of fitness level or age. They have unveiled a program that includes free online high-energy workouts for anyone who is wanting something to do at home to help reduce stress and build the immune system and body stronger.
The workouts feature fun, fat burning exercises that are 30 minutes in length that you can follow along with right from the comfort of your home. You can workout alongside their team every day at 8:30AM on their second location’s Facebook page, Arrowhead Fit Body Boot Camp, or follow along with the workout via their YouTube page, AZ Fit Body Boot Camp, at your convenience. The short and efficient workouts makes them easy to do on a lunch break or in between school lessons. Be sure to join in on the fun for an experience you won’t regret!
