Peoria’s Mayor and City Council will recognize the commitment and sacrifices of our veterans with a ceremony and dedication of additions to Peoria’s Veterans Memorial
Additions to the memorial to be dedicated include an honor wall, reflection deck and a Bell UH-1H Huey helicopter display. The helicopter was reconstructed by Light Horse Legacy.
Following the ceremony and dedication, the event moves inside the recreation center with a light breakfast and at 9 a.m. a special documentary will be shown.
At 10:15 a.m. the Rio Vista Recreation Center begins its 10th anniversary celebration with activities continuing throughout the day.
