Join us at your local Peoria Public Library as we celebrate Tolkien Week and Hobbit Day! The American Tolkien Society proclaimed Hobbit Day to be Sept. 22, honoring J. R. R. Tolkien's seminal writings and influence on the many fantasy literature and art works that followed. We have a week-long celebration that includes raffle prizes, take and make crafts, movies and more! Please see the happenings at each building below.
Peoria Main Library:
- Saturday, Sept. 10, @ 1 p.m.: Showing of 'The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring'.
- Saturday, Sept. 17, @ 1 p.m.: Showing of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'.
- Sept. 19 - 24: Raffle prizes, a Tolkien book display, a selfie station and Gandolf-To-Go clay craft kits (while supplies last).
- Wednesday, Sept. 21, @ 6 p.m.: Creative Craft Night – Hobbit Door Ornaments.
- Thursday, Sept. 22, @ 6 p.m.: National Hobbit Day & Tolkien Trivia via Kahoot!
