Peoria, which boasts one of the country’s best facilities for Spring Training baseball along with convenient access to just about every major sporting venue, is a sunny playground for sports enthusiasts.

In addition to Spring Training baseball with the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners, sports-minded visitors can enjoy regular season baseball with the Arizona Diamondbacks, football with the Arizona Cardinals, basketball with the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury, hockey with the Phoenix Coyotes, NASCAR racing at Phoenix International Raceway and dirt track sprint car racing at Peoria's own Canyon Speedway Park.

With temperatures beginning to cool down, Peoria’s fall sports season is around the corner. Peoria’s sports programs aim to emphasize participation among peers and introduce basic skills and fundamentals of each sport.
The city of Peoria has launched its first online Peoria product shop. Starting today, Peoria residents, business owners and tourists can purchase items like t-shirts, cellphone cases, tote bags, dog and baby gear, keychains and more displaying the new Peoria flag.
The Peoria City Council approved the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget at last night’s council meeting. The total budget of $590 million maintains core citizen services without any increases to taxes, and small but necessary adjustments to utility rates.
This serves as public notice of proposed fees and taxes that may be considered by Peoria City Council, as outlined by Arizona State Statutes.
At the recent State of the City, Mayor Cathy Carlat unveiled the city’s first official flag.
